This would give Facebook a fully fledged vedio products to build into their service. Google aly has a voice and vedio chat service. So their reasoning is less clear. Skype delayed its IPO earlier this year, and its rumored to be considering a buyout for three to four billion. Warner Brothers is acquiring Flixster and Rotten Tomatoes. This comes just after Warner Brothers announced a digital everywhere app, slated to roll out in the summer. Warner Brothers insists that both Rotten Tomatoes and Flixster will continue to operate independantly. If you see links to vedios and photos of Osama Bin Ladens death, you aly know not to click on them. We will know in a few weeks. You may not have to plug in your iphone to update any longer, thats the latest rumor from 925 mac. Oh, this is a bit different. Therere dinosaurs here. Now these guys I recognized. (Yes.) So this is your famous Thomas? (Yes.) Can we get up here? (Sure. Absolutely.) Face to face to the baby T-rex. With three T-rexes of different ages on one platform, its possible for the first time ever to get an understanding of the entire life cycle of this legend of the dinosaur kingdom. So having a series of juvenile skeletons like this gives you insights into the way that dinosaurs grew. Absolutely. The dinosaurs had growth bursts. So this animal is estimated to have died at the age of two. Right.没错。And this one here is estimated to have died at the age 13. There is, you know, there is a size discrepancy here, but they are also 11 years apart. Yet this animal is only four years older than this one. Yet its enormously bigger than this one. What this is telling you is that between 13 and 17, they were able to add about 1,500 pounds, thats what 750 kilograms a year. Wow. And when you see that the two skeletons close to each other like that, you really get a kind of physical impression of that. Although Thomas towers over the younger T-rexes, even he wasnt fully grown. But at about 17 years old, he was aly 11 meters long and over three tons in weight. So this is a juvenile, this enormous skeleton. Indeed. Indeed. Its an animal that probably died at the age of 17, so rather young. So hes still a teenager. You can tell that hes a juvenile not only based on the histology on the bone tissue for which we have studies of it, but also because there are many bones that would fuse when the animal was a full-grown that have yet not been fused, one of them missed here, the calcaneum and the astragals are completely unfused and both with the tibia. And its not just the phenomenal speed at which they grew that Luis shedding light on. The final addition to this platform would be carcass of another dinosaur, the T-rexes dinner. It will give us an insight into how the three T-rexes may have interacted. 201301/222168。

The new homes to be built in Gilo, an urban settlement that Israeli raked on land it captured on the West Bank during the 1967 War, for this area of east Jerusalem is where the Palestinians want to put the capital of their future state. They said the settlements will deny them a viable country. ;By announcing these settlements tenders today, Israel have said 1,100 no to a resumption of negotiations, to the two states solution, so Americans, Europeans, Russians, and the UN are confronted with this 1,100 nos from Netanyahu. This government has chosen settlements and not peace.;“以色列今日公布定居点的招标文件,拒绝以重新和谈的方式解决两国的问题。 The so-called Quartet of International Mediators, the ed States, the European Union, Russia and the UN, has called for talks to begin within a month, and urged both sides not to take unilateral actions that could block peacemaking. The American reaction was unequivocal. ;We believe that this mornings announcement by the government of Israel approving the construction of the 1100 housing units in east Jerusalem is counterproductive to our efforts to resume direct negotiations between the parties. As you know, we have long urged both sides to avoid any kind of action which could undermine trust, including, and perhaps most particularly in Jerusalem, any action that could be viewed provocative by either side.;以色列政府今晨声明批准在耶路撒冷以东建设1100套住宅单元,我们相信此举会对重启和谈的努力起到反作用。 But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out any freeze in settlement construction and pointed to the failure of a previous moratorium on building to bring about a deal with Palestinians, the Palestinians are demanding just such a promise before they return to talks. The US had been hoping for a quick exemption, to divert attention away from the Palestinian bid to win statehood at the UN, and would force Washington to veto the effort. The announcement of the new building further complicates the diplomatic angle, and put the prospect of negotiations even more in doubt. Justin Nuzanky, Skynews.

The minister of magic steps down魔法部长隐退Can Silicon Valleys most disruptive firm prosper without its maker?没有了创始人,硅谷曾经最混乱的公司会繁荣起来吗?IN A commencement speech to students at Stanford University in 2005, Steve Jobs, the chief executive of Apple, advised his audience to avoid being trapped by dogma and to have the courage to follow their hearts and their intuition.2005年,苹果首席执行官斯蒂芬乔布斯在斯坦福大学毕业典礼上对学生们提出建议,不要被教条束缚,要勇于跟随自己的内心和直觉。“Stay hungry. Stay foolish,” he said as he signed off. By following his own advice, Mr Jobs, who resigned as Apples boss on August 24th, has turned the company from a basket case on the brink of bankruptcy when he returned to its helm in 1997 into a world-beater that is reshaping a big chunk of the technology industry. Earlier this month, Apple even briefly surpassed Exxon Mobil, an oil giant, to become the worlds most valuable company. No other boss in recent history has embodied and defined a firm as completely as Mr Jobs. So his decision to resign as chief executive has inevitably raised the question of whether Apple will remain as hungry and as wildly successful without its entrepreneurial maestro at the helm. Other giants in the tech industry have seen their fortunes fade after iconic leaders have departed. Microsoft has struggled to regain its mojo since Bill Gates stood down as its chief executive in January 2000.2000年比尔盖茨辞去微软的首席执行官后,微软经历了一段困难时期才重拾辉煌。Could Apple suffer a similar fate? That seems unlikely for several reasons. One is that the company has had plenty of time to plan for this moment. Mr Jobs has stepped aside from day-to-day management at Apple on a couple of occasions before, after having surgery for a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2004. Each time, Tim Cook, Apples chief operating officer, temporarily assumed his bosss responsibilities. That allowed Mr Cook, who is taking over from Mr Jobs as CEO, to get a taste for the top spot—and it gave Apples board a chance to see him in action. On each occasion, Mr Cook kept Apples money-making machine ticking over smoothly. An expert in manufacturing and logistics, he closed down almost all of Apples manufacturing operations after he arrived at the firm in the late 1990s and outsourced much of these to Asia. Announcing his promotion, Apples board said that he had shown “remarkable talent and sound judgment in everything he does.” Talent is something that Apple also has an abundance of elsewhere in its ranks. Executives such as Phil Schiller, who oversees the companys marketing, and Jonathan Ive, a Briton whose domain is design, are part of a team that has worked closely together for many years. If Mr Cook can keep this group intact, then Apples future should be bright. The firm also benefits from an intensely loyal and motivated workforce. Glassdoor, an online jobs and careers community, carries reviews of the company from almost 1,000 Apple employees. Most are glowing about the firm and in particular about Mr Jobss impact on it. One post even calls Apples former boss “the Thomas Edison of this century”. Paul Saffo of Discern Analytics, a financial-analytics company, reckons that this depth of loyalty will mean that even though Mr Jobs is stepping down, the firms employees will continue to ask themselves “what would Steve do?” when making decisions. Another reason for optimism is that Mr Jobs is not disappearing from the scene entirely. Instead he is taking on a new role as the chairman of Apples board, which should allow him to keep weighing in on important decisions for some time to come, assuming that his health allows. Apple has a pretty clear product pipeline for the next couple of years, which is reassuring. The firm is due to unveil the latest version of its hugely successful iPhone in the coming weeks and is expected to launch a new iPad early next year. But Apple is far more than the sum of the devices that it sells, impressive though they are. Its secret sauce lies in the integration of these with software and services such as its iTunes online content store and its recently announced iCloud online-storage offering. These form what tech types like to call an “ecosystem” that has proved so popular that it is forcing other companies to develop similar capabilities. Google, which has long excelled at developing software, recently splashed out .5 billion for Motorola Mobility so that it could get its hands on the firms smartphones, tablets and other devices. And Amazon, which has a huge cloud business, is planning to launch its own tablet computer to compete with Apples iPad. The good news for Apples investors is that the firm has been given a great head start in the battle for dominance of this emerging tech landscape thanks to Mr Jobs, whose vision of the future has been honed over a long and tumultuous career. After co-founding Apple with Steve Wozniak in the 1970s, he went on to pioneer the era of the personal computer in the following decade. He was then ousted from Apple after a boardroom coup in 1985. After that, Mr Jobs followed his heart and his intuition by building up Pixar, a film studio that specialises in computer-animated films. It has produced a string of hits, from “Toy Story” to “Finding Nemo”. He returned to Apple as an adviser in 1996, when the firm was in dire straits.1996年,在苹果陷入重大困境之际,他作为顾问重返公司。A year later he was made interim chief executive. Asked at the time what he thought Mr Jobs should do with Apple, Michael Dell, a rival computer-maker, helpfully suggested that he should shut it down. Find out how much of an Apple iPhone is actually a Samsung with our ;teardown; infographic.Mr Jobs ignored that advice.Instead he led the company on to its greatest triumphs. Among them were the creation of the iMac, which revived the firms ailing computer business, and the development of the iPod, which ended up transforming the music industry. But just as important as what Apple did was what it did not do. Charles Golvin of Forrester, a research firm, says that one of Mr Jobss greatest skills has been to decide which projects the firm should not undertake. It has been widely rumoured, for example, that engineers at Apple were urging its boss to create a tablet computer in the early part of the decade. But Mr Jobs turned a deaf ear to their entreaties and instead insisted that the company focus on producing a smartphone. The result was the iPhone, which transformed yet another market and is still minting money. In a creative cauldron like Apple, ideas are rarely in short supply. But the skill of choosing the right ones to focus on at the right time is rare. Mr Jobs has it. Apples shareholders will have to hope that Mr Cook does too.

Imagine a kitchen without pots, pans or even recipes. Its a concept that one of the worlds largestappliancemakers envisions for the future. The heart of the whole unit is an all-in-one kitchen surface, kitchen table and bar. The changeable work area with the cooker, table and pots adjusts its shape when directed by the user. To use it, the cook places ingredients on the surface which analyses them to come up with recipe suggestions. Then the user marks with the hand size of the area.
