As expected, Senator Barack Obama has won the Wyoming caucuses, gaining seven more delegates to move him closer to clinching the Democratic Party nomination. But, Senator Hillary Clinton is also fighting hard, following her recent wins in Texas and Ohio. The western state of Wyoming has large areas of sparsely populated range land and wilderness and only a few relatively small cities, by national standards, so it offers only 12 delegates. But Senator Obama welcomes any delegates as he moves to widen his nearly 100 delegate lead over Hillary Clinton. Both candidates campaigned in the state Friday, but analysts had long assumed Obama would have the advantage partly because he has tended to do well in states that hold caucuses, rather than primaries. As the final results were being tallied it appeared he had won almost two thirds of the total votes cast. Obama is likely to take seven delegates from Wyoming. Clinton should take five. For the past week Clinton has been focusing much of her campaign rhetoric on what she describes as Obama's lack of experience, questioning his iness to be commander in chief. Often when lives are on the line and a decision must be made, experience counts for everything,' she said. "In this election we need a nominee who can pass the commander-in-chief test, someone y on day one to defend our country and keep our families safe." Clinton cites her experience both as a senator from New York and her eight years working with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in the White House as well as her claim to have visited some 80 nations. But Obama says her vote in the Senate to authorize the war in Iraq shows her lack of good judgment and he also questions the basis of her claim to experience. One of the things I hope people start asking is what exactly is this foreign experience that she is claiming. I know she talks about visiting 80 countries. It is not clear, was she negotiating a treaty or agreements or was she handling crises during this period of time? My sense is the answer is no," he said. Obama supporters hailed the Wyoming victory as one more step to ultimate victory for their candidate, but Clinton supporters say the nearly even split of delegates keeps their candidate's campaign alive. Under the Democratic Party's rules delegates are split proportionally based on the vote in each contest. The next contest for the two Democratic candidates will be in the southern state of Mississippi, which holds its primary on Tuesday. Thirty-three delegates are at stake in that contest. 200803/29596Telling the viewers they are seeing something when they are actually seeing something different is, in the opinion of all reputable TV makers, beyond the pale. But what of the ordinary techniques that TV producers use everyday in pursuit of their craft? In the current atmosphere, some TV producers worry that a lot of what we in the industry take for granted might now need to be reconsidered. Girish Juneja brings you the most honest report you've ever seen. Here I am reporting from outside the High Court. Now you might think that means I have been inside the High Court listening to a case, but I haven't. And more often than not, reporters would have stayed in the office. They would have kept up with developments by ing the oral important in newswires. They might have made a phone call or two and even filmed an interview. This is just one of the tricks of our trade, but is it dishonest! You are happy? Yeah, I hate wearing ties. And start walking.Take this for example, it's called an establisher. It enabled me to say something impressive about this person that I am about to interview. Faking certainly is common in Television. Across the… Oh, yeah, sure, OK. Faking is endemic in all television. Across the…I have just helped create a brief striking remark. You may know it is a sound bite, but without I hope any misrepresentation. Now for the cutaway. A shot of me helps us edit the interview. But a cutaway also makes you think we are listening to each other. In reality though, as we usually only have one camera, these are shot afterwards. Is that a lie? This is where it's all done, the edit. The camera man forgot to record the sound on the street shot. But that's ok, we can add some. I think something VROOM, VROOMing would sound right, Mike. You know, VROOM, VROOM.Is this cheating? Generally it's thought not. But putting gunfire over a battle scene, for example, would be a different story. And by the way, this is a pieced camera, and this one was written hours ago before I even went out filming. But that's because I largely knew what my conclusions were going to be. Dose that make it untrue?Well, no. Because for most pieces by the time I start filming, I have done enough research to know what I need to say. So a TV producer that values perfectionism wouldn't bend editorial meaning, but all of us use techniques to make watchable television. It's for the public to decide whether they are justified. Oh, it's all so boring. I will say something with you. What's, what's next?Faking is, that's the bite, use that bite, Mike. Perfect.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1.beyond the pale:outside the boundaries of acceptable behaviour.2.more often than not:多半, 通常 200805/39709

Both major-party candidates for U.S. president are stressing the need for change in Washington. In nationally broadcast interviews Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain are calling for reform. Senator Obama says during the remaining weeks of the campaign, he must convince voters that he is the only candidate who can really bring change to the nation's capital. The American people know we are in a bad place. They understand that the country is off track. They know the economy is not working for them," said Obama. "And what they have to be persuaded of is that there is a big difference between the parties." Speaking on the A television program This Week, Obama said Americans have become cynical, and with good reason. And what I have got to say is there is a real difference here. John McCain, who is a good man and has a compelling biography, has embraced and adopted the George Bush economic platform," he added. Senator McCain emphasized last week at his party's national convention that he has struck his own path throughout his political career. On the CBS broadcast Face the Nation, he said he would put in place a unity government, bringing in Democrats and independents at the highest levels. It is going to be the best people in America, the smartest people in America," said McCain. "So many of these problems we face, for example, energy independence, what is partisan about that?" 我们所面对的很多问题 -- 比如能源自主-- 这和党派有什么关系呢?”McCain also praised his vice-presidential running mate, Alaska governor Sarah Palin, saying she has a clear record of reform. She did the things that Americans want most," said McCain. "So in all due respect to any of the critics, what we want is the change in Washington. And who better in the political landscape could do that than Governor Sarah Palin whose whole life has been engaged in that?" 佩林州长毕生精力都致力于改革,在政治圈子里,还有谁比佩林更强?”In the coming weeks, there will be three presidential debates between Senators McCain and Obama, and one debate involving Governor Palin and the Democratic Party's vice-presidential nominee, Senator Joseph Biden. Biden said Sunday that he considers Palin, a newcomer on the national political scene, to be a formidable opponent. He told the N program Meet the Press that he wants to hear more about her stands on individual issues. 200809/47736

国家地理:Gator in the Backyard 后院的不速之客"The lady, she has two small dogs and she was worried because the alligator finds the back of her house and just gets up there and he sounds itself and lays out there. She tries to chase him off and he don't move, because he opens his mouth. So she's a little bit worried, which she has plenty of reasons to be."Rick finds the distressed homeowner: Debra Whine Simon and her dogs. As they played on the shore, they had a lucky escape from the gator.''Look at the face, he and he was away, almost by the skin of your teeth.''The local residents have taken pictures of the alligator sitting on the shore.''This guy was (Oh, he's a big one.) at the other yard(Is it big? This is a big one) and that's from faraway. (That's a good sight one, isn't it? Yeah.) That's from, now look at the next picture, which was like three trees over, so was far-away.''And he's not done it to have fun.Is it really?See!You think so?Debra's worried about her pets.''My direct concern is that they are not food: alligator food. They... I mean, they're my, my, my babies. And I..., it freaks me out that there's a predator, that actually because they must sense that there are dogs that live here and that's why they do come and hang out here. ''Because of the urgency of the situation, Rick and Scott are prepared for an all-nighter.''I, I have eggs for breakfast. Don't worry about it. (What time do you want me to be here?) There it goes. You are staying right here until that thing is gone.''The lake at the back of the property is massive. The gator could be anywhere.Simon was out on her bank, and she's got a couple of toy poodles that the gator will enter and harass them. Said she's sick and tired of living like this. Welcome to south Florida.''''Dogs are on the food chain for the alligator, there's no doubt about it.''At night, alligators are difficult to see, but their eyes gleam orange from reflected light. As Rick sweeps his spotlight across the lake, there's no sign of the deadly predator.''Plan is we're gonna go up around the band and see if we see this guy. It's perfect night, perfect for hunting, but not seeing the alligator. So either he's moved on looking for a female, or he's in thick grass around the band up here.'' Rick drives around the lake. He's concerned that it's getting late and that his flashlight might be scaring local residents.''He started to shine a light like this and the back at these old people's house like what we've been doing. You get the law call every time. ''It's why you use that low light.''''Well, we've checked every inch of body of water out here in this community, haven't seen the alligator. So er, he was just for tonight.''alligator or gator: An alligator is a large reptile with short legs, a long tail and very powerful jaws.
